It’s been over a year since we created our first list of magical places in Poland – you can read it HERE. Now we are adding 6 new! Once again they’re charming, magical, great for a weekend or for a few days in summer, spring or fall. Some of these spots we discovered last summer, some of them we discovered this spring. They are various spots – sometimes they’re better for a trip for two, sometimes for a trip with your kid, sometimes for a trip with your friends. Sometimes they’re in the mountains, sometimes at the lake. But they all have that “something”:)
I would really like there to be 10, 15 or 20 magical places on this list for everyone to find something for themselves, but you need to remember one thing: as opposed to other websites and some blogs, here you will find places we’ve actually been to and tested by ourselves. And since we travel abroad a lot as well, we have our jobs etc., our possibilities to explore become way smaller than when you copy and paste descriptions found on hotels and guesthouses’ websites and add a few pictures taken by someone else 😉 But there’s one good thing that comes out of such situation – we can recommend these places in hundred percent!!!! 🙂
And even though it may be that the cook will fry your pancakes in a worse way than ours, that the weather won’t be that good and some dish may not be enjoyable for you, I know that in most cases you will come home veeeeeery happy… Just like we did after staying in these places!:) Should we start??? 🙂
6 MAGICAL PLACES IN POLAND – NEW:
We found ourselves in Glendoria in the fall last year, just when we were sure that nothing will surprise us and bring us to our knees in Poland that year. Suddenly we went to the world’s end, and there, amongst meadows, we were supposed to sleep in what you can call a luxurious farm tourism. I hadn’t checked it out, I hadn’t googled it, so my amazement was even bigger. Polished to the finest detail, amazing stable where you eat great meals, where you want to stay longer and read a book. Beautiful neighbourhood and uncovered pool!!! Add to that a few rooms-tents, which immediately reminded us of climatic tents somewhere in India, in Goa. Wow!!!
But that was just the beginning… the biggest frenzy in Glendoria is always started by a forest SPA! It’s something totally amazing, unreal, something out of your dreams. You go through the door in the field, just Alice in Wonderland, and you get to a small house… there you will be treated with massages and you’ll find a wooden jacuzzi where you can sit, look at the sky and listen to the birds sing. 100% amazemenet!!! 🙂 More information and pictures you will find HERE.
There is no other place in Poland where I have tested as many sleeping options as in Zakopane! I used to go there with my parents, I used to spend Easters with my mom there, we went there many times with Łukasz (BTW, did you know that our first date ever took place in Zakopane?!;)), there were camps, school tripcs. There were guesthouses, accommodations, better and worse hotels. There is a house I used to live in at every second street. And suddenly last year one of the most charming places in Zakopane was built there.
Villa 11 Folk & Design will make you fall in love with it because of its intuition, style, marvelous combination of what’s highland, traditional and local with what’s new, stylish and trendy. I think it’s because young residents of Zakopane rule that place – I guess they were the only ones able to mix it all to create charming, delicate, bright rooms that won’t let you forget where they are located. You will get delicious breakfasts there. And they also have a small children’s corner. And a view at the mountains even though it’s pretty close to the center. More about Villa 11 – HERE.
You could say that it’s the newest one of our discoveries – we went there right before the May weekend. Kwaśne Jabłko is famous mostly for its ciders that get international awards. The place itself is located in the middle of nowhere. If you go there, you will get relax far from everything, including restaurants, shops and urban life. Instead, you will find a meadow, forest and beautiful neighbourhood there. You will be able to walk throgh them or bicycle a lot. They have delicious breakfasts with a huge amount of local treats and warm, home made bread, intriguing, various dinners, a lot of cider and apple juice of their own production. Rooms designed with taste and the living room with colorful pillows make us remember our stay there as a bucolic tale even though the weather was ugly.
If it’s pretty outside, you will be able to throw a BBQ. I’ve heard that an original playground for children will be built there in summer, so it’s only getting better! 🙂 You can read about Kwaśne Jabłko HERE.
The only place on this list without a post on our blog – you have to forgive us: we went to Galiny tired with our jobs, previous travels and we also took a group of friends with us so we were focused on spending time with them, and not on gathering material. But we still had our phones with us so we took a lot of pictures 🙂 Galiny are different than other places described here – they’re way less intimate, look more like a hotel than a guesthouse, but they have a few qualities that make it a perfect place for a cool weekend with children.
It’s a climatic manor in which you live, a playground and Maks’s favorite rope, there are horses, donkeys, a lake to which you will get by feet, and beautiful surroundings for bicycling. There’s a BBQ spot by the pond and a huge area, so that parents can sit down and talk while their children go crazy in the neighbourhood. One of the best weekends since last vacation.
Not Mazury, not the mountains, not the sea. The Bug river. Eastern border. Small village surrounded by forests and nature reserves. That’s where you will find this charming, small place – Siedlisko Sobibór. Wooden cabins, individuated rooms and a climatic stable for breakfasts and lunches and dinners in one. BBQs with a view over the never-ending fields in the day, and in the morning – canoeing on the Bug river, which will leave you speechless.
Siedlisko itself makes you love it with its bucalic, rural, angelic climate. With silence, peace and the owners’ happy attitude. That’s the kind of place you run to when you’re exhausted of everything. I think the most charming room is the lacy one, the one with a huge window. Maks would recommend you our polka dots that look a little bit like a house for dwarfs. For kids – lazy walking cats.
A perfect place for a trip with children. A perfect place for a trip with friends and children. Arkadia was built because its owners, the parents of three, decided that it’s extremely difficult to travel with a lot of kids. That’s what they thought and so they created a place for families. There are 3 big suites in a huge house, a big area where kids can have fun, a playground where they play while you’re eating breakfast in the patio or preparing your BBQ. A few steps away there’s a lake, a small beach, boats, water bikes. If you cook and throw BBQs yourself, you don’t even need to leave the place!:) If you want to try local cuisine, you go to Stare Juchy for hash browns. Tested by us and Maks + 1 friend and his son. In 1,5 weeks we’re going back to Arkadia – 10 grown ups and 10 children.. I can’t wait!!!;) More about Mazurska Arkadia HERE.
I’m always asking you for your recommendations of magical places and this time it’s no different 🙂 A lot of summer weekends await us! 🙂 We’ll keep on discovering new places!:)
