It really isn’t an easy job to surprise us when it comes to sushi. We must have eaten like hundreds of rolls in the weirdest versions possible. We also had the pleasure of meeting the most creative sushi masters, artists, miracle makers who amazed us with flavours and looks of their works of art – Alek, Mariusz – that’s about you!:) We love sushi and even though this love has its ups and downs, we eat usually eat sushi once a week. Lately we’ve been totally in love with Sakana and Mariusz Melcer and we pretty much only go for sushi there… But suddenly, I got this from my friend:

” Have you been to Mizu Sushi? We’ve been there today and apart from really great food, there’s a great kids’ corner. The child was gone!:) Girls played in the playhouse for 2 hours! Only came back to eat something!”

Well, we couldn’t not go after such a recommendation! Who, among us, parents, does not dream about going to a restaurant with their kids, but without them at the same time??? 🙂 About eating and talking with friends in peace while the little one calmly plays and spends time nicely? About chit-chatting with a friend while our Maks and her daughter are doing their own stuff and come back only to have a bite of hosomaki with baked salmon?? I dream about it ALL THE TIME! And lately we had more and more problems with making this dream come true since this got boring already, that kid’s corner was too small and the toys were broken and unable to keep the little ‘monsters’ occupied.

So first, my friend went to check Mizu out since she lives nearby. She confirmed that indeed it is a paradise for kids! We have to go there together! We decide to meet on Tuesday after work. Mizu Sushi is located in the building complex on ul. Duchnicka in Żoliborz district – there are some companies there, plenty of shops with interior design products but when we get there at 5 pm with Maks, the neighbourhood looks quite deserted. No problems with finding a parking spot which is always a good thing, especially in comparison with meeting for sushi in the city centre 😉 Let’s find Mizu!

Found it! At first, the interior looks a bit surprising. I don’t know why, but I imagined a tiny shop and Mizu is spacious, very modern (but still pleasant), well-thought-of – the place looks really impressive. Having experienced Łukasz decorating DESEO I have to say ‘wow!’. I have no camera on me because I didn’t even planned taking pictures but I already know I have to write something about Mizu! 🙂

However it’s not the interior design that matters here but the kids’ corner! That’s why we came here after all. When we enter, Tosia is already exploring a large wooden house with plenty of toys and a second floor behind which you can hide. There’s a toy kitchen next to it in which Maks will make a pizza soon, a table with crayons and colouring books and some chairs for toddlers. A truly perfect place for parents with little kids! Such a kids’ corner in an elegant sushi bar is not a common thing!!

Looks good, doesn’t it? But how’s the food??? Yesterday it was delicious! We had 4 very different rolls to share – with calamari and shrimps on garlic butter (love it!), spicy browned salmon, with seriola, mint and lime (so refreshing!) and raw salmon and tamago gourd sprinkled with sweet sauce to end with. Large bits of fish, tender maki, just as much rice, plenty of sides. Even with our high expectations, Mizu turned out to be a great deal! We’ll surely be back and we’ll check if all the sushi masters are doing as good 🙂 My mouth is watering now as I’m thinking about it!

We’re indulging ourselves and enjoying the flavours listening to Maks and Tosia having fun in the kids’ house behind us. If I were to say how a perfect afternoon with a friend and kids looks like I would say – just like that!!! 🙂 Thanks Mizu!!!

Uwielbiam ten moment, gdy mogę Wam donieść o jakimś fajnym i smacznym miejscu!
I love the moments when I can tell you about a truly great and tasty place! Usually in such cases I take lots of pictures and can’t wait to post the entry on the blog. Here it is! My new great find! I have the feeling we’ll become frequent guests. I also get the feeling that Maks will start going like ‘sushi where there’s this cool house’ in less than two days. And you know what, we’ll probably go where he wants 😉
