1st day of 2015 has ended and along with it our adventure in Beskid Sądecki mountains. Snow, large pine trees decorated with snow, lazy and slow walks toward the slopes with Maks, snowflakes melting on your tongue and all sorts of pleasures that only winter can bring. Frosty and snowy winter in the mountains. The one you can fall in love with, especially if you ski or ride a snowboard.
For a few years there was no SKIING in our case. We used to ran away to hot countries in winter instead of freezing on the slopes. India, Canary Islands, Mexico and Thailand shed some bright light on the cold months over the years. The reason was simple, Łukasz wasn’t a skier and I didn’t press him. Especially that in these years together, I also went through my pregnancy, had a small child and it all didn’t help when it comes to skiing. All changed last year when we went to South Tyrol after being invited by the region. Łukasz could barely stand during his first ride but he got into it and couldn’t understand why didn’t he ski all these years! Right now he wants to ski NON STOP. He gets on the lift early morning and around 6.30-7 pm, when I finish my shift, he gets back on track and skis until 9 pm. Even on New Year’s Eve 🙂 So remember: even if you never went skiing before, it’s still not too late to start and make it your new passion! 🙂
Wierchomla Ski & SPA Hotel located a few hundred metres from Wierchomla ski station invited us to Beskid Sądecki mountains. I have to admit that it’s been a while since I went skiing in Poland and Wierchomla turned out to be a pleasant surprise. A pleasant slope (1600 m long) not much of a queue (apart from New Year’s Eve!), all prepared perfectly, pure fun. Only riding open chairs on the lift was quite hard with -10 degrees – I thought I was going to freeze! However amazing views made it worth the struggle! See for yourselves! 🙂

ready, steady, GO!!!

amazing

screw the temperature, I would do anything for such views!

sun setting over Wierchomla

who said that the sunsets are only beautiful by the sea? 🙂
From us three, only Maks haven’t got into skiing yet. Even though last March in Laax and right now in Wierchomla he said that he will ski, when he was supposed to get on track he kind of lost interest. He didn’t even want to try the boots on in the ski rental this time and said that he will ride when he grows up 🙂 We’re not going to force anything, however there was plenty of little ones like Maks or a little older riding on slopes of Wierchomla. Maybe he will give it a shot next season? 🙂 Right now he still has his sleigh, walks, snowballs and digging in the snow. Winter is pure fun for a 3-year-old and if there’s some additional hot chocolate on the slope, he needs nothing more!

everybody’s happy even if they’re not skiing 🙂

snow, sun and blue sky – every skier’s dream

good times in the sun!

love this moment!

you just don’t want to leave!
I miss beautiful and white winter when I look at the sad and dry pavements and lawns behind our window in Warsaw… Hope it returns to us!:)
