Czuła Buła… It only took a name to make me want to go there (Czuła Buła means a care bun in Polish). Then I checked the location: ul. Narbutta 16, near us. Not near enough to go there on foot, sit down and have breakfast – I haven’t lived to see that yet and I have a feeling that it won’t happen too soon. But a 10 minutes drive is a reasonable time to get somewhere for a tasty breakfast or some girl talk. It’s also fast enough when it comes to getting to your mobile office where you can set up your laptop and fruitfully work in pleasant conditions. I keep looking for such places lately and add them to my list since I don’t like working at home… I get carried away, want to do 300 other things – there’s nothing more motivating than working in a cafe/restaurant full of people.
Czuła Buła is also located in a nice area. It’s in Mokotów, where it’s calm, quiet and green, on the square next to the Iluzjon cinema. Mokotów that I will always remember for the safety of my adolescence and sweet buns with crust that I used to buy in the morning with my grandmother when we stayed at her place with my cousin in the summer. As I drive to Czuła Buła I purposefully park a bit further to feel the calmness and the silence… and I cherish the memories.
The place itself is rather small, just a few tables. But it’s decorated very pleasantly. Large picture windows, white colour, grey pillows, a counter with oatmeal cookies, jugs of lemonade or cocktails and lots of fruits on it. There are some toys and books for kids as well – you can also visit Czuła Buła for breakfast or a quick lunch with your little one. WIFI and electrical sockets are present – no problem in plugging your laptop and working. Great.

fruity and pleasant
Menu includes breakfasts, sandwiches, pancakes and salads. The breakfast menu has two major advantages: it’s long and answers diverse needs and likes. Also, it’s very cheap (breakfasts cost PLN 10-13). For those who like it light and healthy there’s oatmeal, millet groats or yoghurt with homemade granola. Egg fans can have soft-boiled eggs or scrambled eggs with extra ingredient of choice. Gourmands can order “Francja Elegancja” breakfast set with a croissant, jam and chocolate cream. The place also offers various types of pancakes with fruits (definitely lighter and simpler than at Mr Pancake :)). You can also follow in Łukasz’ footsteps and choose something from the Buły i Pajdy (buns and sandwiches) section. Nutritious sandwiches with chicken, bacon, salmon or tuna (PLN 15-17) are all on the menu. Again, we eat breakfast with two of our friends which allows us to try various things. Since it’s so hot, we get lemonade for drinks. The cheapest in town (PLN 5!!!) and served in unique little bottles (?). You can also get a cocktail, even a kale one – trendy and heatlhy :).

yoghurt with homemade granola and fruits

millet groats with fruits, nuts, yoghurt and chia seeds

pancakes with maple syrup

BLTA sandwich – homemade herb pesto, avocado, bacon, salad and tomato (PLN 16)

the cheapest lemonade in Warsaw – PLN 5!
All the things we eat are tasty and eatable. It may not be the best yoghurt with granola I have eaten (the one at Kuchnia i Wino restaurant in Vincent’s in Kazimierz is still my favourite), this may not be the best pancakes I have either but it’s still good. Add really low prices as for a breakfast in Warsaw and you’ll get a great place to start your day, especially in this hot summer time.
You can also visit Czuła Buła for something sweet or for a simple lunch. Every day, there’s a different lunch set available along with some salads (PLN 17) and savoury pancakes (PLN 12). We choose The Hen (chicken, salad mix, spinach, blue cheese, grapes, sunflower seeds) and Care Norwegian (salmon, salad mix, cucumber, capers, tomato) from the salads section. The salads are tasty, with generous portions of ingredients and two slices of fresh bread. Perfect for a light lunch.
Enjoy! 🙂
