Weekend somewhere in Poland. A nice and charming place, maybe even a magical one? With good food. With good vibe and atmosphere. With a room where you dream the most beautiful dreams. With a soul. A place which will make your imagination going. A place worth remembering. A place you want to get back to. You often ask us about such places. Via e-mails and messages, and when it comes to our friends via Facebook and mobile. Now, spring has finally come and soon we will have summer, the best time for weekend trips around Poland<\/strong>. We always do it! We spent autumn and winter on longer trips somewhere far and in the summer we go and visit various places around Poland – the popular ones and ones that are still not that familiar.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We have our favourite spots – places that blew us away, where we often go back or at least want to. They’re diverse. Some are exceptionally stylish, well designed and have rooms that look like snapshots from a home decoration magazine. Some serve great food, have unusual approach, themed workshops and welcoming owners. One thing all of them have in common is the vibe and the atmosphere<\/strong>. You already read about some of them here so don’t be surprised to see Vincent’s or Ga\u0142adu\u015b once again. We wrote about some of them this year, but some date back to 2013. Do you even remember? \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

We decided to refresh your memory and give you a list which will work great as a companion for summer – for family trips, together or with friends<\/strong>. Each entry will link to the respective post \ud83d\ude42 ENJOY! And remember – a weekend is really a lot of time for a short trip! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

1) VINCENT’S – KAZIMIERZ DOLNY<\/a><\/h3>\n

Even though the locations are presented in random order, , Vincent’s<\/a><\/strong> deserves the first place because it must be the place in Poland we visit most frequently! 2 hours drive from Warsaw and we’re there! There, you will find lazy walks around Kazimierz, famous cocks, walks by the Vistula river, castle ruins and a tower. A perfect place for a weekend for two, perfect for a trip with your child – we took Maks to Vincent’s for his first trip when he was just 3 weeks old! \ud83d\ude42 Why Vincent’s? Because every little detail in this place is amazing and I don’t know any other place that’s so cosy ad stylish at the same time. Each room has its own style, I love their breakfasts served on a porch and dinners in a charming restaurant because the food proves to be delicious every time – Amaro used to compose their menu some time ago! I don’t know how many times have we stayed at Vincent’s but it must have been at least 5-7 times. It’s enough to vouch for a place.<\/p>\n

2) GO\u015aCINIEC GA\u0141ADU\u015a – SUWALSZCZYZNA<\/a><\/h3>\n

Go\u015bciniec Ga\u0142adu\u015b<\/strong> is a place with which you fall in love from the first sight. No doubts about that. Hidden in the end of the world, in Suwalszczyzna, a few kilometres from the border with Lithuania. Far from everything. Peace, quiet, a lake, a glade, a playground for kids, a barbecue, a sauna, a fire and a volleyball pitch. Folding beds with lake view. Delicate, almost girlish rooms and a living room with a fire which makes you wanna stay in there forever. Homemade breakfast is yet another advantage – fluffy pancakes with apples, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, gherkins, local specialties such as cepelinai, dumplings or potato babka for lunch and a fruit cake for dessert. A place that perfectly illustrates the idea of ‘slow life and slow food’. And around you – lakes, woods, calm villages, bike routes and lots of Lithuanian food.<\/p>\n

3) DW\u00d3R ZA\u015aCIANEK – BORSUKI<\/a><\/h3>\n

Last year our friends took us to Dw\u00f3r Za\u015bcianek<\/strong> and thank god for that! It’s quite close to Warsaw (160 km),on the border of Masowsze, Podlasie and Lulbelszczyzna. There you will find charming mansion with welcoming owners, woods, a tiny swimming pool and various themed weekends. Breakfasts and dinners are served in a garden where the kids can run around. It’s worth going to Za\u015bcianek for a themed weekend – we went for a cherry-themed one – we picked cherries, cooked them together and tried various cherry meals. Great memories and a great attraction for kids. In May you can still go and enjoy a ‘Asparagus, Wine and Jazz’ weekend with Agata Wojda<\/a>. Sounds tempting, doesn’t it? You can find information about their remaining weekend on their website<\/a>. Other available attractions include bikes, kayaking on Bug river and walks around picturesque neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

4) GALERY 69 – DOROTOWO <\/a><\/h3>\n

We’ve been to Galery 69<\/a> in Dorotowo in times before the blog and therefore in order to see the pictures of the rooms, you have to check their website – here<\/a>. The hotel is beautiful, unusual and absolutely remarkable when it comes to interior design, architecture, furniture etc. It’s also nicely located by the lake with its own pier and lots of chill out opportunities. We’ve been there on our last trip for two, a month and a half before Maks was born. A perfect place for a pregnant woman – chill out, good food (at least it was during our stay in 2013;)) and an indoor swimming pool which you can book for yourself. A paradise, but quite expensive.<\/p>\n

5) CHATA W\u0118DROWCA – BIESZCZADY<\/a><\/h3>\n

Lately somebody told us that we write about the giant pancake <\/a> which you can try in Chata W\u0119drowca<\/strong> in Wetlina in Bieszczady too much. his time it won’t be about the pancake (even though I’m going to keep promoting it forever!) but about the place itself. Chata is part restaurant with good food you can have after a hiking trip and part a guesthouse offered by the owners – Ewa and Robert. Stylish rooms with a soul, beautiful porch, a garden. If you’re looking for a place with a vibe, that’s where you should go! \ud83d\ude42 And before the trip, be sure to read this entry<\/a>! After that Chata will gt even more magical… \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

6) ZAGRODA MAGIJA – BIESZCZADY<\/a><\/h3>\n

There must be something about Bieszczady since there’s so many magical places there along with magical stories. During our stay last August, we visited Zagroda Magija<\/strong>.We didn’t stay for the night, but a few hours spent with the owners was enough remember the place. It’s magical for several reasons: the huts guests stay in are from 19th century, the owners organise various events and workshops such as glass painting, photo workshop, journeys following old orthodox churches. Concerts and other meetings. It’s a place which is not only a good starting point, but an interesting spot itself – perfect for a prolonged weekend. Other activities include: walks, bikes, Bieszczady, banya, Hungarian’s Cave with homemade wines and vodkas.<\/p>\n

7) SIO\u0141O BUDY – BIA\u0141OWIE\u017bA<\/a><\/h3>\n

Sio\u0142o Budy<\/strong> – best starting point to see Bia\u0142owie\u017ca and its surroundings. Charming colourful houses with a simple interior. A picturesque open air museum nearby with settlements from kresy from 19th century – great attraction both for the young ones and for the old ones. Foodies like us should pay attention to Karczma Osocznika<\/a> serving kresy cuisine and things like haluski with cream, dumplings, meat kiszka and soljanka which you have to try. There’s plenty of attractions around – bisons, trips to the wild, mysterious orthodox churches. We love these areas!<\/p>\n

8) TATARSKA JURTA – KRUSZYNIANY<\/a><\/h3>\n

I know, I know – why write about a place if you can’t present any pictures of it apart from food. Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of Tatarska Jurta<\/strong> – check their website<\/a>. The rooms are quite simple and ordinary and I didn’t feel like taking pictures when we were here. Bu I have a lot of pictures of food since it’s the kind of cuisine you won’t find anywhere else. Traditional Tatar with such mysterious names as pierekaczewnik, manty and belysz. A tiny wooden mosque nearby and plenty of places for walks, both in the summer and in the winter And in the evening you can observe the owners make to\u0142kysz – do you even know what that is? \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Here’s our list. As always personal, but all of these places have a place in our hearts and we know they’re worth recommending. They make weekends spent there memorable, full of charm and beautiful memories.<\/p>\n
