We didn’t have much time for sightseeing in Singapore so we chose what we were interested in the most: hanging around Chinatown, visits to Little India and Arab Quarter, food of course <\/a> and something equally cool for us and for Maks: Gardens by the Bay<\/strong>. A beautiful and amazing place perfect for a hot, sultry days that are something common in Singapore. If you’re travelling with a child, these gardens hidden under huge glass domes are a must! Kids will be happy and enchanted. That’s 200% guaranteed!<\/p>\n

We headed to Gardens by the Bay<\/strong> (all practical information can be found on their website HERE<\/a>!) on foot, from our hotel located right by Promenade subway station. Google Maps says it’s a 1.5 km walk. If you’re coming from a different location, Bayfront MRT station is the closest one. We walked through a footpath next to Marina Bay Sands and enjoyed the views on our way. This place looks amazing from all angles! The gardens are just a few steps away from Marina. Apart from MBS, Singapore Flyer looks amazing as well as we pass it by. It’s a cool observation point too!<\/p>\n

We check our map and can already see huge goblet-like trees and a hanging footpath between them! The place is fascinating. Wiping the sweat from our foreheads, we approach the cash desk – we buy tickets for two gardens (conservatories)<\/em> hidden underneath huge glass domes – Flower Dome and Cloud Forest<\/strong>. Ticket costs 28 Singapore dollars (about PLN 84). Kids below 3 get in for free. It’s not cheap and for a moment I wonder if it’s worth it. A few seconds later I know it is!<\/p>\n

We start with Flower Dome<\/strong> – the garden looks impressive right from the start, it’s amazingly green and beautiful while Chinese touches, wooden sculptures and animal figures made from flowers and sticks between the plants make it look even more picturesque. The climate in Flower Dome is temperate and dry and the temperature is very pleasant between 23-25 degrees. You can finally take some rest from the heat which can be unbearable in the city. You’ll find Mediterranean plants here, plants from Australia, South America and South Africa.<\/p>\n

There’s plenty of visitors but the garden is big enough not to get too crowded. Some enjoy the vibe, others take pictures of each and every flower and treat all the plants with respect. We’re in the first group. We love the environment, look for wooden sculptures, Maks runs like mad, enchanted with everything around him. In the end, we take a ride up, to the kingdom of baobabs after which we relocate to Cloud Forest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If Flower Dome was a beautiful place and a charming garden, then Cloud Forest is a completely different cup of tea, different level of initiation<\/strong>! A tropical highland climate which can be found on heights between 1000 and 3000 MAMSL, a huge waterfall and footpaths leading somewhere high in the sky, like to some kind of a forgotten land. It’s wet and magical and every place we see demands pictures. Cloud Forest is impressive and mind-blowing! I don’t want to leave…<\/p>\n

W don’t see all the attractions in Gardens by the Bay<\/strong> due to the heat outside – huge goblet-like trees Supertrees<\/strong> and a ‘sky footpath’ on which you can walk around them. If you have enough energy (and no complaining 3-year-old with you), give it a try!<\/p>\n

For us the trip to the gardens was one of the most original experiences of our journeys and what’s the most important – Maks was amazed as well! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
