If you’re a frequent reader of our blog, you already know that lately, we fell in love with Bieszczady. It was amazing, magical and beautiful. We visited fantastic places, met people, we could talk a whole night with, even though we have just met, fell in love with Ursa Maior beer and the giant pancake with blueberries… Somewhere in between, we discovered a great place to stay!<\/strong> We first wanted to sleep at Chata W\u0119drowca (they have rooms for rent), but it’s quite hard to find a room at their place spontaneously.<\/p>\n

\u0141ukasz began the search and came up with HOTEL CARPATIA BIESZCZADZKI GO\u015aCINIEC<\/a> –<\/strong> 3,5 km from Wetlina, a real gem when it comes to hotels in Bieszczady – there’s lots of rooms and guesthouses there, but not so many actual hotels.<\/p>\n

We reached Carpatia<\/strong> after a looong and tiring trip that took us 7 hours with traffic jam and crying Maks included. He was really sick of it, especially in the end, on the curvy roads of Bieszczady. In such circumstances, there’s nothing better than a pleasant hotel and the feeling that you have made the right decision. In such circumstances there’s nothing worse than a hotel\/guesthouse that’s disappointing and prevents you from getting rest after the trip.<\/p>\n

First, we saw a few-storey high, highlander style building, a beautiful view around and the space that made us calm. Then, the room – stylish, fitted with wood, with a large bed, white linen, large pillows and a pleasant bathroom. It’s going to be good! Even though there was already a regular size bed for Maks prepared, the staff happily brought a smaller one for him, while we left for the long awaited dinner (we only had a McDonald’s cheeseburger in Ostrowiec \u015awi\u0119tokrzyski on the road).<\/p>\n

I have to admit that we didn’t expect much. Just a regular hotel inn somewhere in the mountains… Surprise, surprise! The menu is very nice – some classics as well as more original dishes such as potato pancakes with pumpkin and sunflower seeds served with smoked trout and caramelised onion! Wow! that’s obviously the first thing we try and a meal that we keep ordering for the next few days. My friends, the pancakes rule! The duck was also quite alright (however the fried dumplings were so hard, you could break your teeth eating them). The menu also includes masculine meals such as pork knuckle and traditional ones such as a pork chop served it’s only appropriate way – with bone, sauerkraut and potatoes. Grilled cheese with cranberry and toasted challah was a great starter. Nothing special but challah was a great idea for a side. And the dessert: fried ice cream in batter! Yes, in a hotel in Bieszczady! I had better ice cream, but I never tried batter better than this one made from nuts and sesame! Delicious! An obvious drink to go with all these wonders – Ursa Marior beer – you already heard about it!<\/p>\n

Big up for Hotel Carpatia<\/strong> for tasty food and great staff that some better hotels can only dream about. The breakfast also deserves a mention – diverse and homespun at the same time. We, as parents will remember Carpatia<\/strong> for something else, though. It’s a great place to go with the child. Lots of open space to run around outside, a place for a bonfire, wooden swings and a large playroom inside with foosball table and tiny pool table which Maks didn’t want to stop playing. The inn also has a kids’ menu – chicken soup, tomato soup, chicken fillets with carrots, pancakes and other little ones’ specials are all there.<\/p>\n

Add the closeness of the mountains and popular resorts such as Wetlina and Cisna and you’ll get a perfect place to stay! 200-300 metres from the hotel, you’ll find perfect areas for walks and some spectacular views! We totally recommend it!<\/p>\n
