What can I say, we like good hotels. We can sleep on a night train somewhere on a road to Armenia or in a room for PLN 40 somewhere in the Vietnamese mountains. We love Romek\u2019s apartments for PLN 25 in Suwalszczyzna where the linen still feels like early 90s. But we also like some luxury from time to time. Sleeping in a comfy bed with white linen for instance. We like tasty and diverse breakfasts that you can eat almost in bed, reading newspapers and drinking latte or green tea. We like places that are pretty, where everything is well-thought in order to make our stay pleasant. Because a hotel is not only a place to stay overnight during trips but also a place where we want to spend holidays, weekends or just relax not thinking or worrying about anything. During the week, we usually work a lot, sometimes until late night or early morning. Therefore we think that we deserve some relaxation in a beautiful place. I suppose you deserve it too! \uf04a<\/p>\n

We already wrote about the standards of dr Irena Eris hotels<\/strong><\/a> in the winter when we spent a weekend in Wzg\u00f3rza Dylewskie<\/a>. It\u2019s a place that thinks about everything, perfect in the summer and in the winter. Therefore we expected similar from Krynica Zdr\u00f3j.<\/strong> It turned out to be even better! Maybe that\u2019s because of the beautiful summer weather and us warming up on the folding beds in the July sun, maybe the greenness of the surrounding hills. Anyway, I put the weekend at dr Irena Eris in Krynica Zdr\u00f3j on my top weekends of 2014 list<\/strong>. A hotel that thinks about everything and the green Beskid S\u0105decki around with wooden orthodox churches and amazing views. Peace and silence. Perfect.<\/p>\n

I kept thinking about the disadvantages of Hotel dr Ireny Eris in Krynica Zdr\u00f3j. It can\u2019t be that perfect, can it?! I thought about it for a while… and didn\u2019t find any. Therefore this entry is going to be mainly about the advantages since there are many… <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

* perfect service<\/h5>\n

Service was the first thing that got me. They passed the most difficult test 10 minutes after our arrival which I already wrote about here.<\/a> People acting calm, smiling gently and understanding when your child just threw up all over the lobby make you fall in love with such a place. If you add a superfriendly babysitter that provides attractions for the children in the playroom, great restaurant service and the warmth of the ladies working at the SPA, you\u2019ll get a place with perfect service on all levels.<\/p>\n

* spacious and modern, yet cosy rooms<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A room that I like. Modern, but not too modern. Cosy. A type that you feel like sitting in in the evening, reading a book in bed.. or reading a newspaper… or writing a blog. With an equally spacious, well-stocked bathroom, sometimes with a direct exit to the vast meadow with a view of the gondola going up the Jaworzyna mountain. Folding beds on the meadow, along with large hammocks when the weather is good. Heavenly!<\/p>\n

I love to have a pool in my hotel, especially since we started travelling with Maks and he became old enough to make use of it. In Krynica it was quite big, you could swim in a sporty way, chill out in the Jacuzzi and then sunbathe on a folding bed with a mountain view. I already wrote about the water attractions here<\/a>. \u0141ukasz spends time in a sauna during breaks from the swimming pool while I lie on the folding bed with some girly newspaper. The relax is complete.<\/p>\n

* nightgowns, slippers and swimming pool bags<\/h5>\n

You can say these are irrelevant things or something suitable for lazy customers, but I like to be one of those lazy customers from time to time, I like to be indulged because I want to and I can. Because I deserve it… we often forget about it. My opinion is that it\u2019s important to remember about it and not to leave it for the time when we become 50 or 60. Apart from nightgowns and slippers, you even get a swimming pool bag you can take to the swimming pool or SPA with you. They thought about the guests not having to carry books, newspapers, sunscreens, toys and… cell phones in their hands. It worked for us since it helped us carry Maks\u2019 dinosaurs to the swimming pool \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

* SPA<\/h5>\n

SPA. One of the standout features of dr Irena Eris hotels,<\/strong>, even though it never was such a big deal for me. I already told you that I\u2019m not a SPA person. I get bored since I usually have so many things to do that I don\u2019t want to lie down doing nothing for 1.5 hours. I know, I\u2019m mad. This time I lied down and appreciated it. I chose the \u201cBody a la carte with intensive firming\u201d treatment but it was the flavours and scents that made me do it… chocolate-caramel-cherry. Perfect for me. Muesli peeling from cocoa seeds, cherry-caramel nectar and a mask from warm chocolate to finish… God, I could stop washing and keep smelling like it forever. Miraculous!<\/p>\n

Last but not least: the food! It\u2019s one of the best things about the hotel and we\u2019re going to do a separate entry about the cuisine at Hotel dr Irena Eris in Krynica<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Hotel food can often be doubtful… not so tasty, the buffet, maybe it\u2019s better to visit some restaurant elsewhere. It\u2019s really hard to transform a hotel restaurant into a gem. But they did it here \u2013 the food is delicious! No buffet. A well-thought and diverse menu. Here\u2019s a little teaser \u2013 one of my favourite desserts \u2013 cheesecake with grated raspberry sauce with mango and maracuya salad.<\/p>\n

* diverse and filling breakfasts<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A good breakfast equals a good start of the day. Sounds like a clich\u00e9 but I totally believe it. I love delicious breakfasts, I love eating breakfasts out with friends, I love hotel breakfasts, where there\u2019s so much to choose from that you don\u2019t know where to start and after finding something good, I eat it for the next three days. That\u2019s how it went this time…. the essentials: smoked salmon and goat\u2019s cheese. Then some moist and crispy dark bread and waffles with strawberry jam from hotel\u2019s cellars or chocolate cream and almonds as a morning sweet. And fruits in batter. And chocolate pancakes for Maks. And fruits. And a variety of muesli. The day after such breakfast must be good.<\/p>\n

A day in Krynica must be good. Some will say \u2013 \u201cthey were amazed cause they got an invitation. Can I believe them?\u201d I tell you one thing: I really tried to find something that I didn\u2019t like. And I couldn\u2019t. I recommended this place to my friends and I always want the best for them. And I know that anybody who will go there, will not be disappointed… The folding beds are waiting! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

PS 1. Ok, there\u2019s one thing we didn\u2019t like: Thai Time restaurant. A place that\u2019s supposed to be Thai, but is far worse than Thai restaurants in Warsaw. If you ever been to Thailand or regularly eat in real Thai restaurants in Poland, you will get disappointed since it\u2019s hard to find authentic Thai flavours there. But maybe our visit will change it and they will improve? \ud83d\ude42 I hope so!<\/p>\n
