Phew, thank God it\u2019s Friday!!! Did you also take a breath of relief this morning? I swear I could hear you breathe! \ud83d\ude42 I should have been breathing with ease since Thursday evening, since we took off to Dublin from the Modlin airport, but unfortunately a big journey requires so much preparations that I have a weekend to deal with my laptop, Internet and work\u2026 well, the end justifies the means! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m not going to write about it. It\u2019s Friday, so I\u2019ll give you a weekend inspiration \ud83d\ude42 It\u2019s for those of you who have the time, no plans and would like to enjoy the golden Polish autumn\u2026 Do you remember my post from the beginning of this week about\u00a0<\/span>vintage<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>in <\/span>Mierz\u0119cin Palace<\/strong>? It was a wonderful, magical, sunny, autumn experience\u2026 and we definitely have to repeat it someday! We just have to wait until the next vintage\u2026 \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

But, is it worth visiting\u00a0Pa\u0142acu Mierz\u0119cin Wellness & Wine Resort<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0without a purpose, just for a weekend? Definitely! Just take a look and you\u2019ll start planning your trip!! \ud83d\ude42 We\u2019d like to come back in the spring with our friends and I believe that we\u2019ll finally be able to take full advantage of all the possibilities offered by the Palace due to our various interests.<\/p>\n

The Palace itself is quite old; it was erected between 1861-1863. It\u2019s a romantic, English neo-gothic residence. Obviously, it initially had private owners, but after World War II it became the property of the State Treasury that located an Agricultural Farm in Mierz\u0119cin (founded in 1959). The Palace itself and its grange buildings were turned into offices, a kindergarten, a day room, and employee flats\u2026 This situation lasted until 1991, and subsequently the Palace fell into oblivion and it was abandoned. Finally, its current owner \u2013 Novol Company \u2013 restored it between 1999-2001.<\/p>\n

The area around Pa\u0142ac Mierz\u0119cin is vast. It\u2019s not my area of expertise \u2013 centres \/ hotels located, frankly speaking, in the middle of nowhere. I\u2019ve never liked hotels-oases whose guests never cross the hotel gate and never see anything. We usually travel with a purpose \u2013 we choose a certain hotel in order to visit a town \/ a neighbourhood. However, Mierz\u0119cin offers so much to see and do in the hotel, and the centre, that we didn\u2019t have enough time!<\/p>\n

I was above all charmed by the surroundings of the Palace, the magnificent park, the grange buildings made of red brick (I love it!), a lot of walking space \u2013 the joyful, running walks with Maks and the romantic evening walks.<\/b> I\u2019m not going to mention the vintage because I\u2019ve already said that I was amazed by it!<\/p>\n

The park terrain around the Palace is wonderful\u2026 paths and alleys, a pond, buildings of the former grange where currently guest rooms are located, the Destylarnia restaurant, Grape Spa, wine cellars and a stable. There are many relaxing options, except for walking\u2026 Everyone can find something for her\/himself!<\/p>\n

PA\u0141AC MIERZ\u0118CIN FOR A WOMAN\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everyone\u2026 It\u2019s a bit clich\u00e9, isn\u2019t it? \ud83d\ude42 But it really is for everyone! There are horses, tennis courts for sportswomen and men, and a playground for kids and\u2026 a lovely SPA for us \u2013 always busy, always with not-enough-time, always looking at their watches\u2026 What can I say? It\u2019s for me! Sometimes my weeks are so busy that I don\u2019t even realise that my day has started when it\u2019s already ending, and I have a long to-do-list for the next day. It\u2019s been like this everyday lately. And if i.e. Maks has a night party and he turns on all the lights at 5 am and decides to take out his cars\u2026 and I went to sleep at 3 am! I get up too late, I cannot wake up properly, I do everything in haste, and I spill the milk and forget to pack extra clothes to the nursery, I\u2019m finishing one project, fighting for the second one, loosing the third, calls, e-mails, e-mails, calls\u2026 phew, do you sometimes feel like going crazy?? I do \u2013 and I did even twice this week \ud83d\ude42 In a situation like this I get my favourite coffee from Coffee Heaven (Orka forever!!) or take a trip and leave this hectic Warsaw frenzy\u2026 And we relax! In Mierz\u0119cin, except for relaxation during walks, dinners and wine, you can remarkably relax in the SPA.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know many SPAs (I don\u2019t have the time!! :)) but this one is impressive! It\u2019s new, from 2011, and everything is perfectly suitable, lovely planned and believe me, I\u2019d sometimes give a lot to teleport to a heated deckchair and to have a peeling applied to my body\u2026 and in Mierz\u0119cin they have a special, grape seeds peeling!<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know about you, but I feel better already from the mere looking at these photos. Grape Spa in Mierz\u0119cin has a swimming pool, a variety of saunas and caves with various temperatures and various features, massage rooms, and a wine bath. And the best thing is that they use this the grapes collected in the vineyard in their relaxing and rejuvenating treatments. It\u2019s worth trying!<\/p>\n

PA\u0141AC MIERZ\u0118CIN FOR A GUY\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, SPA can also be useful for men, but not all men fancy it\u2026 But everyone likes a swimming pool, local wine and the\u00a0<\/span>Destylarnia<\/a>\u00a0restaurant, and\u00a0the sporty ones can also use a gym and a tennis court. My experience from our trips is: women gossip and walk with children, and men gossip and play tennis \ud83d\ude42 And Pa\u0142ac Mierz\u0119cin is perfect for this! There\u2019s another sport available: horse riding\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

And a tasty dinner should follow sport activities! We visited the Destylarnia restaurant<\/strong>\u00a0only once because during the vintage other meals were served outside or in the palace restaurant. We were delighted by the restaurant\u2019s d\u00e9cor as it\u2019s interior is associated with its origin \u2013 it\u2019s a former distillery. We had a delicious, warming onion soup with cheese toast, and boar tenderloin\u2026 And Maks eagerly chose a chicken soup and spaghetti bolognese of the children\u2019s menu.<\/p>\n

PA\u0141AC MIERZ\u0118CIN FOR A CHILD\u2026<\/p>\n

I mentioned women, men, so now it\u2019s time for children. When we go with Maks (so, almost always!), attractions and facilities for children are essential. First, we saw a kids\u2019 corner in one of the palace chambers \u2013 small but with a lot of quite interesting toys (puzzles, jigsaws). It made Maks happy! The restaurant offers a separate children\u2019s menu with rather typical (spaghetti, chicken nuggets, soups, pancakes) but very tasty dishes \u2013 in fact they are so tasty that when I was feeding the kids\u2019 bolognese to Maks on our way back, his dad was also eating! So, another plus! And there are many outside attractions \u2013 a vast playground, birds, pheasants, peacocks to watch, ponies to stroke, a huge park to play, chestnuts and\u2026 tractors. It\u2019s Maks\u2019s personal new favourite \u2013 well, he\u2019s been thinking of himself as of a real men for a while now \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

ROOMS\u2026<\/p>\n

There are over 60 rooms in 3 buildings in Pa\u0142ac Mierz\u0119cin: in the Palace, the Outbuilding and the Grange. We stayed in the Palace and that\u2019s where we were having our breakfasts. Rooms are very decent, bathrooms are new and very pleasant. But I cannot say that we favour the palace style \ud83d\ude42 We prefer a bit more modern approach towards d\u00e9cor or old, but also regional and local style. But it\u2019s our opinion \u2013 rooms are very decent. We didn\u2019t spend much time inside anyway, as there was so much to do! Check for yourselves! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

If you want to know the current prices, check the website\u00a0<\/span>here<\/a>. There are quite a few promotions \u2013 in the summer the price was PLN 115 per person per day including breakfast, similarly in November. Until the end of 2013 \u2013 it\u2019s PLN 120 per person including breakfast. It\u2019s not bad at all! There are also promotions in the SPA, so it\u2019s worth being up to date! \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n
