I already wrote about Dubai and now it’s time to tell you what to do when you get tired of the glass skyscrapers, taxis, fancy restaurants and luxurious hotels. Our stay in Dubai was quite short so we didn’t even consider renting a car and searched for an organised trip instead. The plan was to see the desert and go on a safari but not too adventurous due to Maks being with us.<\/p>\n

It’s not hard to find an agency that specialises in local excursions. You can go to the desert, to Abu Dhabi or to the Hatta mountains. Arabian evenings, boat trips and city tours are also available. There are plenty of offers in the agencies. Usually the trips last from a few hours up to a whole day. We mainly browsed\u00a0 Arabian Adventures<\/a>, but after all decided to go for a trip with Arabia Horizons<\/a>. They had a stand in Marina promenade. We asked them for details, chose a trip we liked, paid and that was it!<\/p>\n

We were quite limited because of Maks. Most of the trips include a few hours in a car :\/. We finally decided to try Hatta Mountain Safari. <\/b>It turned out to be a bit of a hasty decision… The views were great, but we still stayed in the car a lot and most of all \u2013 was it really worth 100 dollars per person? Don’t think so! So choose wisely. That’s how the Hatta mountains looked like \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

After the trip through the mountains \u2013 fantastic views, but travellers with motion sickness need to remember about their medicine! \u2013 we finally arrived in Hatta Village \u2013 <\/b>our destination. We expected a mountain village with local people. We got quite disappointed as it turned out to be a kind of an open-air-museum \ud83d\ude42 We saw some houses pretending to be old, which was quite cool (despite Maks who kept saying “I’m afraid of these dolls!” when he saw dummies imitating the residents) \ud83d\ude09 We climbed a local tower, took some pictures and that was it.<\/p>\n

So, remember to read the excursion plans more carefully than we did! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
